Process Principle
The calcium and magnesium hardness ions contained in the boiler feedwater are prone to undergo chemical reactions or crystallize and precipitate under high-temperature conditions, forming insoluble scale that firmly adheres to the boiler heating surfaces. The scale has extremely poor heat conductivity and will hinder heat transfer, and in severe cases, can cause boiler tube burst accidents; at the same time, it will also intensify the electrochemical corrosion of the metal beneath the scale, threatening the safe operation of the equipment.
Although the boiler condensate water and feedwater have undergone complete softening and desalination treatment, there will still be a small amount of calcium and magnesium hardness carried into the boiler water. For the residual hardness, adding phosphate to the boiler water is a mature and effective treatment method. The reaction equation is as follows:
The resulting basic calcium phosphate formed is a loose sludge that can be easily discharged through regular boiler blowdown and is not prone to adhering to the heated surfaces to form hard scale.
Process Overview
This device is composed of four major parts: the liquid solution mixing system, the metering addition system, the safety protection system, and the electrical control system. The solid phosphate salt is placed in the solution mixing tank, and is added to the demineralized water or condensate water in accordance with the ratio and then stirred and dissolved. It is then transported to the boiler steam drum by the metering addition system. The addition mode supports local manual operation and can also receive control signals issued by the upper-level system to achieve remote automatic dosing.
